We had our earliest start this morning – leaving before breakfast and promptly becoming breakfast for the local ninja midges.
It was a foggy morning but it soon cleared up with the sun poking through the clouds and illuminating parts of the mountain range across Loch Lomond.
We had a choice of the high road or the low road (well this is Loch Lomond) and of course took the high road – which went through different types of woods including some very Tolkien parts.
We had some lovely views between the trees of the mountain range across Loch Lomond.
Arrived at Inversnaid Hotel – which is about all there is in Inversnaid way too early for lunch – too early even for coffee – but decided to wait until 10.30 when the bar opened for coffee and drinks.
They are set up for hikers in a major way here – with a separate walkers entrance where you leave your shoes and rucksacks before going through to the bar.
