Day 4: Inverarnan to Tyndrum

Today was a shorter hike, especially as we took a short cut towards the end as it was getting very hot.

We hiked 11.21 miles today with a total elevation of 1972 feet.

We started with fog and walked along a ridge and through woods, entering the cloud.

We could make out the shapes of mountains through the mist at times.

We also saw some lovely waterfalls.

When we came out above the clouds it was like we were above the world with amazing tops of mountains around us. There was logging of plantation trees going on in some parts.

Eventually the clouds dissipated and it became clear blue skies and very hot.

There are a handful of people we keep bumping into – some staying at the same places and some camping along the way.

We made it to Tyndrum Inn – the pub we are staying at tonight – by about 1.30, after a lunch stop at the Real World Cafe. Couldn’t check in until 3 though. A shower never felt so good…
